We bought a house with a Generac Generator. We had an RPM sensor loss warning light, and called Midcoast Energy Systems because they are right up the road. The repair tech came and spent 15 minutes installing a new solenoid. We received a 120 dollar bill for that visit, and then when the generator completely failed the following week we were charged another 90 dollars for him to tell us that the generator was ruined as a piston had gone through the side of the motor. If you are keeping track we have spent 210 dollars for a now completely useless generator. Generac and midcoast have not been helpful at all in getting the generator repaired. The generator is only 5 years old, and neither company is willing to help. We will never use midcoast again, despite the fact that they are a mile away. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.
